The Society of Fluorescence

Administered by The Institute of Fluorescence (IoF)

Welcome to the official Society of Fluorescence (SoF) Website

Society of FluorescenceThe Society of Fluorescence was founded some 15 years ago by our friend and college, Dr. Otto Wolfbeis, University of Regensburg, Germany. Since that time, the Society of Fluorescence has grown significantly, with hundreds of members world-wide. Now under the leadership of Dr. Chris D. Geddes, Professor and Director: The Institute of Fluorescence, the SoF has rapidly become the largest Society for Fluorescence-based workers in the world.

The Society aims to provide a forum for fluorescence workers to interact, share ideas, meet and publish their findings in the Official Society Journal, The Journal of Fluorescence, which has an ever growing impact number / factor (2006 = 2.601). In addition, the Who’s Who in Fluorescence Annual volume is freely made available to SoF members and features fluorescence workers contact details and expertise listings.

With fluorescence being the dominant tool in Biotechnology today, we hope that you’ll join the Society of Fluorescence and join an ever growing society.
